What is a Bed & Breakfast

The accomodation is provided by the owners of the structures who as well live in them. It is not rare in fact that guests are to share the bathroom, livingroom etc. B&B has anglosaxon roots but it has widely spread all thoughout western Europe escpecially Germany, France and of course Italy.

At the very beginning B&Bs were very popular among young easygoing travellers. As time passed this accomodation has become more and more frequent among all sorts of tourists as an ideal of cheap and alternative way of travelling...

As the owners often live in these houses themselves it is a very good way for tousits to get to know the culture, traditions and uses of the place they are visiting. This is helped also by the familiar atmosphere and the low number of rooms they have compared to a hotel.
